Project Overview: Quad Dome Restaurant & Wellness Space
Client: Yorkshire Spa Retreat, Nawton, North Yorkshire
Scope: Tent Hub supplied two joined 10 m Quad Domes to form a spacious, timber-clad restaurant and bar—now known as The Dome—seating up to 80 guests.
In addition, a standalone 10 m dome was installed as a tranquil wellness sanctuary, positioned beside the retreat’s natural swim pond and thermal treatment area.
Design & Construction Features
Permanent Structure:
Unlike temporary marquees, all domes were built as permanent structures on reinforced foundations. Each build meets full UK building regulations.
Timber Frame:
The structure uses geometric, glu-laminated beams. These offer both visual appeal and long-term durability.
Insulated and Clad for Comfort:
Each dome is finished with timber cladding and high-performance insulation. As a result, they provide excellent thermal comfort, require minimal upkeep, and blend seamlessly into the natural landscape.
The Dome Restaurant & Bar
A Memorable Dining Space:
Two linked domes create an 80-cover restaurant and bar, with an adjoining sheltered outdoor dining den.
Chef-Led Menu:
Led by ex-Masterchef finalist Stefan Rares-Burducea, the kitchen showcases seasonal Yorkshire produce. Signature dishes include braised beef cheeks with Yorkshire pudding, shroom scallops, and festive menus.
Critically Acclaimed:
Reviews highlight the vaulted timber ceilings, panoramic windows, and the venue’s relaxed but refined atmosphere. Whether it’s lunch with family, wine with friends, or a post-spa treat, The Dome delivers a distinctive experience.
Spa Dome: A Sanctuary of Serenity
Purpose-Built Wellness Space:
Located beside the wild swim pond, this 10 m dome offers an ideal setting for yoga, pilates, and meditation classes.
All-Year Use:
Like the restaurant domes, it features timber cladding and full insulation. This ensures comfort and usability in every season.

The wellness dome complements the spa’s core features, including hydrotherapy pools, a Himalayan salt sauna, and herbal steam rooms.

The restaurant operates daily, serving both day-spa clients and lodge guests. It has created new revenue streams through dining, events, and private hire.
